Setting Up Light Masts
1. The new generator lives on the field next to the two masts. At some stage we hope to have a small tool store for it to live in.
2. If we are lighting the 2nd pitch, you will need to have turned the “Training Lights” (ones that light the U9/U10 and half of the 2nd pitch) on, the switch for these is in the 6/7/8 corridor in the changing rooms.
3. On each mast there are 3 essential controls
a.Mast Raise - black button with a green illuminated centre
b.Mast Stop/Lower button which is red
c.Brightness Dial 0-100%
4. Remove any strap and the cover off each mast and make sure each mast is on 0% brightness. Unwind each cable and plug them into the generator, if not already plugged in.
5. Starting the generator - The generator uses electric key start, the key is in the changing room key box.
a.Make sure the red switch on the front is turned to on
b.The choke is a yellow level on the front, this may beed twisting to open/close f
c.Make sure the generator is on 240v and that the black switch is on 1
d.Turn the key till it starts
6. The “Mast Raise” button will illuminate green on each mast. Press the Mast Raise button on each mast. They will then make a pumping noise and each will raise slowly, let them do so. They are at max height once the pumping noise stops. Before raising the masts check the lights look to be in a useful angle/position
7. Once the mast is at max height, the generator will get louder and labour a bit.
8. Turn each mast up to 100% brightness
Packing the masts away
1. Turn masts brightness to 0%
2. Press and hold the red Mast Down button on each mast until both masts drop down.
3. Turn off the generator by turning the key on the front panel and close the red valve petrol switch
4. We dont normally unplug the leads from the generator now.
5. Place any covers over masts and zip them up, replace the straps round the masts to keep the covers in place.
Please note that the lights have a sensor for wind and if the wind speed is 45mph or more they will automatically lower themselves.
If a mast wont raise, check for a red light inside one of the legs. This suggests the leg isnt pressing into the ground with enough pressure. Use the winder on that leg to lower the leg a bit till the light switches off. The mast should now raise
